New Feature Update Highlights - December 2021

There are some powerful new capabilities coming to your ErgoSuite Platform in December 2021!

   ErgoSuite Location Tools

Clients have asked for ErgoSuite to include metrics for Hybrid-Schedule employees differentiated between time at traditional offices of their employer compared to time at home-based offices.

This new feature is completely optional, of course, as are all of ErgoSuite’s tools.

ErgoSuite can optionally now track the employee’s location which can be used then for certain reports and analyses to filter between the locations. For the employee:

All of the functions are customizable including what controls are offered to employees for settings:

Just a few of the many uses for the Work Location Metrics Include:

• Providing new high-value metrics and insights for understanding the ergonomics of how employees are working in home-based offices compared to traditional offices across your organization.

• Providing additional high-value metrics useful for assisting employees experiencing discomfort.

ErgoSuite Sit/Stand Position Change Coach

Some clients have asked for ErgoSuite to further its guidance for employees with adjustable height worksurfaces (sitting versus standing) and track employee posture position changes in order to promote usage and measure utilization of these adjustable height worksurfaces.

This new feature is completely optional, of course, as are all of ErgoSuite’s tools.

ErgoSuite’s existing Classic Sit/Stand Alerts provide reminders based on activity for employees so they can break up unhealthy prolonged static postures. Clients have reported excellent results in seeing employees improving their behaviors.

• Now, with the new ErgoSuite Sit/Stand Position Change Coach, employees can set a traditional alternating cycle of sitting and standing regardless of computer activity (e.g. x hours/minutes sitting followed with x hours/minutes standing or vice versa).

Classic Sit/Stand Alerts still remain available while the employee (or the employer) chooses which one to use on an individual basis. Only one of the methods is active at any given time.

Using the new ErgoSuite Sit/Stand Position Change Coach, ErgoSuite guides employees periodically during their day reminding them to switch the position of their Adjustable Height Worksurface because studies have shown it to be healthful to periodically alternate between sitting and standing while using a computer in order to prevent prolonged unhealthy Static Postures (remaining in one position for too long of a duration).

Leveraging proprietary Behavioral Coaching, the objective is to form automatic habits where the employee will work while sitting for a period of time and then switch to working while standing for a period of time and then continue the pattern, alternating between the two postures several times during a work day.

Employees can start in either position and can adjust the settings to meet their needs, however, it's recommended to use the default settings for maximum comfort and safety.

Later on, ErgoSuite will remind the employee to switch from standing to sitting or vice versa, while providing them great flexibility to adjust their cycles based on their day.

All of the content is customizable including what controls are offered to employees for settings:

Summary and detailed data is available at ErgoSuite’s Administration Console for employees for both Work Locations as well as Sit/Stand Positions (for employees using Adjustable Height Worksurfaces) so clients can see and analyze both.

The following is a “Monthly View” showing an employee where they started using the Ergo Work Location tool on the 13th and then started using the Sit/Stand Coaching tool on the 27th:

The following is a “Weekly View” showing more detail for the same employee:

The following is a “Daily View” showing even more detail for the same employee:

Just a few of the many uses for the Sit/Stand Coach metrics Include:

• Providing new high-value metrics and insights for EH&S Teams while assisting employees experiencing discomfort.

• Promoting usage of Adjustable Height Worksurfaces after their initial novelty effect dissipates.

• “Reallocation Planning” for moving Adjustable Height Worksurfaces from people not using them to people who want to use them.

For employees using ErgoSuite’s Sit/Stand Position Change Coach, they can easily check where they are within their posture cycle from ErgoSuite’s MyErgo Dashboard (shown here in normal size):
